Workshop Supervisor

(Mechanical, Electrical & Hydraulics)

€47 - 50,000 per year +

Location: Ballycoolin, Dublin
Hours: Mon–Thurs 7.30am–5pm, Fri 7.30am–4pm (41.5 hrs/week)

We are seeking a proactive and hands‑on Workshop Supervisor with strong hydraulic, mechanical, or electrical experience to lead the day‑to‑day operations of our busy workshop. This newly created role is ideal for someone who maintains high standards of productivity, safety, and customer service while supporting a skilled technical team.

What You Will Do

  • Supervise daily workshop activity, ensuring productivity targets and KPIs are met.
  • Provide expert support on hydraulic diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Carry out urgent on‑site repairs when required (mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic).
  • Allocate work effectively and adjust schedules based on changing priorities.
  • Support, mentor, and develop the workshop team, including apprentices.
  • Work closely with the purchasing/stores team to ensure the availability of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical parts.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment with the correct tools and equipment.
  • Keep accurate documentation for all service department processes and procedures.
  • Promote strong safety culture and high housekeeping standards within the team.

What You Will Need

  • Supervisory experience in a workshop, engineering, service, or hydraulics‑related environment (desirable).
  • Hands‑on experience working with hydraulic systems—diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, or installation.
  • Experience in an engineering, mechanical, or electrical service environment.
  • A third‑level qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a time‑served mechanic/electrician/fitter.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, confident, and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to prioritise tasks independently.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Word and Excel.

Salary

€47-50,000 per year / Negotiable DOE
