Bid Manager

Day-to-day of the role:

Pipeline Management:
- Work with partners to identify business opportunities.
- Track opportunities with existing and target clients.
- Manage and continuously improve the Tender Library.
- Coordinate document production and drafting.
- Maintain and develop practice panel and client lists.
- Track and report on activity, results, trends, and statistics.

Tender Execution, Project Management & Writing:
- Lead Bid/No Bid decisions with senior management.
- Advise on strategy including key win themes, USPs, and positioning.
- Conduct market research to inform strategy and submissions.
- Work with senior stakeholders to agree on pricing strategies.
- Draft and edit high-quality, client-focused content.
- Project manage the entire bid process, sourcing and creating new content.
- Prepare pitch and presentation materials, including rehearsing and coaching presentation teams.
- Conduct debriefs internally and with clients; communicate feedback internally.

Leadership & Team Development:
- Coordinate and attend Senior Management Tenders meetings.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the bid team to ensure high performance.
- Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams.
- Drive continuous improvement through post-bid reviews and process enhancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Educated to primary degree level with a minimum of 8-10 years' relevant work experience focused on bid and proposal development.
- Strong track record of leading end-to-end bids, ideally on public sector and complex multidisciplinary opportunities.
- Experience in a professional services firm with good commercial judgement.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and strong people management skills.
- Practical, organised approach, able to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
- Sharp eye for detail and high standards in written work.
- Professional, positive manner and sound judgement, including handling confidential information.
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills. Familiarity with tendering portals is preferred.
