Inventory Controller

Key aspects of the role:

  • Maintain accurate stock records and ensure inventory levels are optimised.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to identify discrepancies.
  • Investigate stock variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with warehouse teams to streamline stock management processes.
  •  Analyse stock data to identify trends and improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for stock control procedures.
  •  Generate reports on stock levels, discrepancies, and inventory performance.
  •  Support the finance team with stock valuations and reconciliations.
  •  Use inventory management systems to track stock movements and update records.
  • Manage and reconcile the GRNI account to ensure accuracy and completeness of goods received and their associated invoices.
  • Monitor and analyse stock variances, investigating discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate pricing of stock, including verification of price changes and communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform timely and accurate stock bookings in the SAP system, maintaining integrity of inventory records.
  • Implement and oversee regular stock cycle counts to monitor inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Monitor and manage ageing stock, preparing reports on slow-moving or obsolete inventory and collaborating with relevant teams to take corrective action.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure seamless stock flow and accurate reporting.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to inventory, providing relevant analysis and reports.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance stock control processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Proven experience in inventory management, stock control, or a related finance role.
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems for stock booking and reporting
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Solid understanding of GRNI processes, stock pricing, variance analysis, stock cycle counts, and ageing stock management.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
