Junior Shipping Clerk – Customer Service

Location: Dublin
Contract: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (Maternity Cover)
Salary: €36,000 – €40,000 (DOE)

We are currently recruiting for a Junior Shipping Clerk to join a leading global organisation within the shipping and logistics industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and customer-focused individual to gain valuable experience within a well-established international company.

This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, organised, and interested in building a long-term career in shipping and logistics. You will play a key role in supporting customer service operations while gaining exposure to import/export documentation and shipping coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as a main point of contact for customer queries
  • Coordinating import and export documentation
  • Supporting vessel loading and discharge processes
  • Assisting with customs clearance and inland transport arrangements
  • Processing invoices and payments
  • Supporting sales coordination and key account activities
  • Managing customer bookings
  • Preparing and handling shipping documentation

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Comfortable handling calls and dealing with clients
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively under pressure
  • Reliable with excellent time management
  • Positive, proactive, and self-motivated attitude
  • Interest in the shipping/logistics industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer systems

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in sales or sales administration
  • At least 2 years’ administration experience
  • Full right to work in Ireland (no sponsorship available)
  • Full clean driver’s licence (desirable)
