About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Depot Plant Technician to join our team. This role is based on-site in our depot and is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background, particularly in plant machinery, heavy equipment, diesel engines, or HGV/mechanics.
The position involves inspections, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of plant and heavy machinery. We are open to candidates from related mechanical backgrounds who have the capability to learn and adapt quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on plant and heavy machinery
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Support workshop operations and work collaboratively with depot staff
- Order and manage parts when required
- Ensure machinery is fit for hire and compliant with safety regulations
What We’re Looking For
- Experience with plant machinery, construction equipment, or heavy diesel engines
- HGV Mechanics, Agri Mechanics, or Heavy Equipment Technicians also considered
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
- Ability to read technical manuals and use diagnostic tools
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work in a busy depot environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
