Claims Handler (First Notification)
Permanent, Full-time
Rathfarnham, Dublin 16- hybrid working available after completion of training

Our client, dedicated broker only insurance agency, are recruiting for a Claims Handler (First Notification) to join their team.

This is a full-time permanent contract, and the successful candidate will report directly to the Claims Manager. The First Notification Claims Handler will also work closely with the wider claims function and the underwriting departments.

Essential criteria:
- APA/Grandfathered status, ideally working towards CIP
- Will consider a candidate without insurance qualifications depending on relevant experience and if willing to work towards gaining these qualifications
- Awareness of underwriting principles, claims regulations, compliance, motor legislation and rules of the road
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Negotiation and decision making skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and manage workload
- Proactive team player with a positive attitude

Job responsibilities:
- Providing first point of contact for customers in a friendly and professional manner to ensure a positive customer experience
- Deal with a broad range of claim types eg. private motor, employer liability, public liability etc
- Complete initial desktop investigations of claims and where possible decide on and confirm indemnity and liability
- Ensure all critical data is captured as comprehensively and accurately as possible to facilitate that:
o all recovery opportunities are clearly flagged for appropriate future follow up
o injuries or potential injuries are quickly identified
o all fraud indicators are recorded to ensure maximum detection of fraud or exaggerated claims
- Instruct service providers when required
- Performing administrative duties as required
