Legal Accounts Assistant

Job Description

This is a great opportunity to work in a progressive and professional solicitors’ practice based in Dublin 1. You will work with an experienced finance team using an advanced integrated computer accounting system.

For the right candidate: in-house and formally accredited training and possible qualifications would be considered, together with salary reviews in line with increasing, performance, responsibilities, and qualifications.

 

Duties:
You will be one of 5 staff reporting to the CFO and Accounts Manager.
Monies are received into a variety of accounts via numerous payment methods (online portal, credit card, direct SEPA transfers, Payzone, MABS).
Identify and record all receipts against the correct matter.
Input these monies into the correct holding client account ready to be remitted over to our clients.
Record all monies received direct by our clients ready for calculating commission and invoicing
Help design and implement additional controls in the business to ensure that errors, omissions and duplications are prevented, or promptly identified and corrected.
Undertake some client reporting and communisations.

 

About you:
Ideally you will come from a law firm accounting background with experience of client money rules and legal firm client/office accounting, but not essential.
Strong MS Excel skills are an essential requirement in order to deal with the large volume of transactions on a daily basis.
Excellent administration skills. - Ability to work on own initiative.
Excellent communication skills – both written and oral.
A strong interest in developing a career in legal accounts.
