Profile

Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Litigation Legal Secretary to join their team in a full-time role.  Applicants should have experience in the area of defence litigation.

The candidate should be enthusiastic, professional and have good attention to detail with good typing skills, telephone manner and communication and computer skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Typing, filing, file management - opening, closing and maintain files, photocopying and scanning and invoicing on files and chasing of same;
  • Strong typing speeds, 60+ wpm;
  • Court administration; preparation of court documents and briefs; liaising with Counsel and Experts as required.
  • Liaising with clients, counsel and other professional experts and advisers;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure under your own initiative to strict deadlines and progress files;
  • Strong work ethic;
  • Other ad hoc duties as required such as providing back-up cover for reception.

Requirements:

  • Experience in using the Keyhouse system is essential;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as legal secretary preferably in litigation;
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and digital dictation;
  • Willingness to learn and ability to multitask.
