Litigation Legal Secretary / Executive

Working hours 9am-5.30pm
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and compilation of court booklets and trial documentation for District, Circuit and High Court matters.
- Drafting routine legal correspondence, notices, applications, pleadings and other legal documents under solicitor supervision.
- Drafting and responding to Replies to Particulars and assisting with discovery and case progression.
- Preparing and submitting Personal Injuries Resolution Board (formerly Injuries Board) applications and managing related correspondence.
- Liaising with clients, counsel, medical experts, engineers and other third parties regarding ongoing cases.
- Preparing and issuing briefs to Counsel and expert witnesses in advance of hearings.
- Managing incoming and outgoing telephone calls, taking detailed messages and dealing with client queries in a professional manner.
- Maintaining accurate case management records and ensuring files are updated and compliant.
- General office administration including diary management, scheduling appointments, organising meetings, filing, scanning and document management.
- Handling legal accounts administration, including preparing cheques, processing invoices and managing outlays.
- Assisting solicitors with litigation files from inception through to settlement or hearing.
- Monitoring court dates and key deadlines to ensure all procedural requirements are met.
- Supporting the team with ad hoc legal and administrative duties as required.
Desired Experience
- Previous experience in a plaintiff or defendant litigation environment.
- Strong drafting and document preparation skills.
- Excellent organisational abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise a busy workload and work to strict court deadlines.
- Strong communication and client care skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
