Solicitor District Court (Contract)

Dublin 2 Firm

6 months FTC initially, September start

 

Legal Executives with District Court experience may be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Post
o Ensure all incoming post is collected each morning.
o Ensure all relevant items are scanned onto the Keyhouse system as required.
o Review post & ensure it is progressed/ actioned as required.
• Phone Calls
o Handle incoming & outgoing calls as required.
o Record any updates/ actions from calls in the Call Notes facility on Keyhouse in order to document all activity pertaining to a case & keep the system files up to date.
• Emails
o Address/ action incoming & outgoing emails.
o Issue any emails pertaining to case files from the Keyhouse email facility.
o Ensure physical & electronic files are updated with any relevant information from emails as required.
• Diary Management
o Ensure all appointments are recorded in the Diary & the office Outlook calendar.
o Liaise with Legal Executive to ensure all meeting requirements are organised as required.
o Ensure all meeting documentation is issued & stored on the Keyhouse system as required.
• Dictation
o Assign all dictation to the offsite Typists, where possible.
o Liaise with Legal executive to ensure completed dictation is issued as required.
• Physical Case Files
o Liaise with Legal Executive to ensure physical file information is accurately maintained & that files are closed out/shipped offsite as needed.
• Electronic Case Files (Keyhouse System)
o Utilise the system Task List to document & plan the case activities as required.
o Ensure electronic file information is accurately maintained i.e. by ensuring that all relevant documentation is scanned onto the system, correct templates & naming conventions are used etc.
o Ensure call/meeting information is accurately maintained in the system.
• Company Spreadsheets
o Update case related data in the relevant Company spreadsheet as required.
o Ensure all Company spreadsheets are ready for Client submission in advance of deadline.
• Reporting
o Ensure an accurate list of current case files is maintained to comply with MI reporting requests.
o Maintain any other reports as requested by the Partners to aid MI requirements.
• Client Management
o Liaise with Clients as required in relation to case files.
o Cultivate & maintain a professional & helpful relationship with Clients.
o Attend Client Networking events as required.
o Advise clients on queries and difficult cases to include providing initial advices;
• General
o A proven ability to work independently on their own files;
o An ability to manage a busy, demanding caseload, to meet deadlines and to prioritise;
o A professional approach to work;
o Dynamic person who is able to work with high volume cases;
o Engage with support team to ensure the proper preparation of cases for court;
o Attending court throughout the country-must have full clean drivers licence and own car;
o Drafting an extensive volume of legal proceedings and affidavits on recovery, defence and debt recovery cases;
o A keen interest and knowledge of contract tort and debt recovery law;

In order to successfully perform this role, the following skills/ knowledge are necessary:
• Proficient MS Office package skills
• Proficient Olympus system knowledge
• Proficient Keyhouse system knowledge
• Solicitor qualification
• Defence litigation knowledge
• Insurance industry knowledge
