We currently seek to recruit an Associate to join our team of experts in the Dispute Resolution & Litigation Group. The Group acts for a broad spectrum of clients, particularly those in the corporate and financial sectors.  We are often the first port of call for major corporates who find themselves in a dispute or who want advice on a matter that might become contentious.  Understanding legal, commercial and reputational risk we devise optimum strategies that focus on the commercial objectives of clients. 

The successful candidate will become part of a group with a high-performance culture of teamwork and mutual support which maintains a balanced mix of public and private sector clients, giving rise to a diverse range of contentious work.

We would welcome applications from those who have 2 years post qualification experience in dispute resolution and litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on all aspects of contentious commercial matters in a variety of sectors, both advisory and in a range of forums such as civil proceedings, inquiries, regulatory investigations and other ADR processes.
  • Preparation for and involvement in complex trials, some involving jury hearings.
  • Developing and advising on strategies to achieve client objectives and manage risk.
  • Using analytical and research skills to formulate legal arguments and identify evidence.
  • Negotiating to achieve client objectives.
  • Advising on and coordinating large scale discovery and other document review exercises.
  • Participating in the business development and knowledge management activities of the group.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

The successful candidate will have:

  • Ideally 2 years post qualification experience in Litigation, Investigations and Dispute Resolution.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision making.
  • Proven communication and analytical skills with a high degree of commercial awareness.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills; the ability to work in a team and to manage a busy workload and client needs on a consistent basis.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A strong interest in maintaining, developing and sharing relevant legal knowledge.
  • Experience of remote and/or physical court hearings.

Education

The successful candidate will:

  • Be qualified as a solicitor in Ireland.
  • Have an excellent academic background.
