Health Law Litigation Solicitor

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Handling files that are mainly focused on Health Law claims
  • Becoming a trusted advisor for our clients and strengthening our connections with them through providing them with ongoing support and advice at a difficult time in their lives
  • Assisting in the day to day overseeing of associated administrative tasks as and when appropriate
  • Working closely with colleagues in other Teams on opportunities to collaborate, assist and support our client base in the overall Healthcare Sector and to learn from and advise others within the Firm on developments.
  • Handling confidential information in line with the firm's data security protocols

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified solicitor in Ireland ideally with a minimum of 4-7 years post qualification experience.
  • Experience in the Plaintiff Health Law is very much required.
  • Medical Negligence experience is essential.
  • Experience of Inquests an advantage.
  • Experience of using alternative forms of dispute resolution.
  • Strong technical skill and an ability to understand and work through issues.
  • A demonstrable ability to adopt a practical perspective rather than an 'academic' approach to legal issues and to be client focused.
  • Ability to operate a high level of self-sufficiency, combined with an awareness of the boundaries of own competence/authority.
  • Team oriented and collegiate approach with an experience of and willingness to mentor, coach and supervise less experienced members of teams where appropriate.
  • Confident communicator with an ability to develop relationships, undertake client demands and influence at all levels. Ability to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day-to-day issues.
  • Strong organisational skills to ensure a pragmatic, methodical & effective approach to advancing claims towards conclusion whether by Negotiation, Mediation or Hearing.
