Litigation Assistant (Injury Risk) - Dublin


JOB INTRODUCTION
Our client is looking to recruit a Litigation Assistant to work with their Injury Risk Team. They are seeking someone with litigation experience and who is accustomed to working in a busy team environment.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITY
• Assisting a small team of FEs in the day to day running of their caseload
• Preparing correspondence and documents from digital dictation
• Physical and electronic file management including filing, scanning, photocopying and archiving
• Drafting, amending and formatting of legal documents and pleadings with a high degree of accuracy
• Preparing briefs for Counsel and booklets for experts and Hearings
• Issuing large documents such as briefs to Counsel/experts via Sharefile
• Occasionally attending Court for Motions and Hearings
• Liaising with experts, Counsels and all other parties as required
• Arranging payments of experts' and Counsels' fees
• Issuing bills to clients and assisting FEs with debt collection
• Opening and closing of electronic and physical files
• Arranging meetings/consultations and assisting with FEs diary management
• Assist with expense claims and booking travel
• Time recording of tasks in line with clients' SLAs
• Updating MI databases
• Any other ad-hoc file tasks as required


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
• Proven experience of working as a Legal Secretary/Legal Executive a must
• Experience of preparing briefs and booklets
• Strong dictation experience with a typing speed of minimum 60 wpm
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, PDF Docs and ShareFile
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential
• Excellent administration and organisational skills
• Fast learner, confident in working on multiple different software systems simultaneously
• Ability to work proactively on one's own initiative
• Ability to draft correspondence when asked to do so
• Ability to prioritise large workloads
• Ability to multi-task and work to strict deadlines
• Team orientated and collaborative with a flexible attitude
• Professional telephone manner and excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• The candidate should have a positive, helpful and cheerful attitude
