Conveyancing Legal Executive

Practice Area: General Practice (Conveyancing, Probate, Family Law, Litigation)

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Legal Executive to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a solid background in general practice, with particular expertise in conveyancing. Additionally, experience in probate, family law, employment law and litigation is desired. The role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage a varied caseload, work collaboratively with solicitors, and provide exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Conveyancing:

• Manage primarily residential property transactions from instruction through to completion on solicitor’s guidance

• Creating and editing legal documents and templates, to include Contracts, Requisitions, Transfers and various Declarations or Land Registry forms etc.

• Digital dictation and copy typing of documents, to include letters, emails etc

• Handle all aspects of the conveyancing process including preparing and submitting stamp duty returns and registering transactions with the Land Registry.

• Dealing with banks in relation to residential mortgages to include completion of documents for the bank, checking the status of and drawing down funds

• Maintaining client files, to include photocopying, scanning and all filing (paper and electronically) and following up on the matters such as local authority certificates, LPT confirmations, NPPR certificates, BER Certificates etc.

• Assisting with office administration and diary management;

• Providing legal support to team of solicitors/consultants in various areas of law.

 

Probate, Family Law, Employment, Litigation

• Support solicitors in handling family law, probate, employment or litigation matters

• Type up and prepare legal documents or briefs, manage case files including administrative aspects of all matters

• Coordinate and liaise with clients, barristers and court officials.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Executive in a general practice setting.

• Extensive experience in conveyancing is essential

• Knowledge of probate, family law, and litigation procedures and practices is advantageous but not necessary

• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
