Job Description

REED Recruitment has a vacancy for our Client based in Dublin 22. We are looking for a Credit Controller, all details listed as below:

Shifts: 9.00 – 5.00 / 8.00 – 4.00 / 8.30 – 4.30
* 10.00 – 6.00 (3 times a month)

€18 per hour
Duration – end of April 2023

 

Duties in the role:

  • Pre approve dispatch of product to customer – order releasing. Takes priority over everything in busy period and involves
  • Ensuring that Customer Credit Limits are current
  • Liaising with Call Centre, Contacting Customers/Regional Managers to ensure if a customer orders they clear any overdue balances
  • Credit Dept is responsible for collecting all the debt.
  • We currently have over 3K+ customers in VMIL with balances on their accounts, new person is concentrating on clearing old debt, maintaining phones and dealing with queries. We have around 130,000 active customers
  • These range from below €100 to a couple over a €1,000,000 plus
  • During the busy season, Credit are the main point of call for all accounts related queries– it is very common to spend the whole day answering calls, dealing with queries and taking payments by Credit Card. (In the busy period this is more or less all they will be doing besides clearing orders.)
  • Upload bank accounts on a daily basis and post payments
  • Receive in Cheques, process and post same.
  • Following up on banking queries regarding payments.
  • Making sure payments are allocated against the correct invoices
  • Ensure compliance with company credit policy
  • On-going maintenance of customer credit limits
  • This involves obtaining credit reports, Stubbs checks and past trading history. Customers are then profiled according to risk and a credit check file maintained
  • Maintenance of customer details eg sole trader, company etc
  • Credit check customers as necessary
  • Credit checking updates – aim to have current credit reports– files are updated as needed but the bulk of credit checking work tends to occur during the summer period when there is more time
  • Domestic Reports, unpaid, outstanding
  • Top 100 customer analysis
  • Bad debt provision/Write off file preparation and reconciliation
  • Returned Direct Debits and cheques
  • The majority of returned DDs occur after 27th of month and for the first few days in a new month
  • Identify accounts for the returns
  • Process returns and bank charges
  • Contact customers regarding the return and resolving same
  • New credit account applications
  • Credit checking
  • Set up account
  • New Direct Debit Applications
  • Credit checking and processing application
  • Set up and scheduling of DD
  • Daily processing of Direct Debits (batch process)
