Role -
Transport Supervisor
Hours of work
- Monday - Friday / 7:00AM - 3:30PM (This can be flexible)
Salary - £23,000
Location - Commutable from Salford

**MUST have a strong background within Transport - Must have experience of managing / supervising a team**

Key Tasks

• To carry out any reasonable request made by management
• To ensure each days items are loaded/unloaded from the vehicles and delivered and returned to Customers according to the Agreement
• To ensure all vehicles and equipment are checked, repaired and maintained in line with manufacturers recommendations and current legislation
• To ensure that the requirements of the Operators License are adhered to at all times
• To plan routes cost effectively
• To establish & maintain good Customer relations and act as liaison between Customer and Company
• To fully utilise the AS400 computer system, as appropriate
• To carry out duties as laid down in BS EN ISO 9001: 2008 / 14001 Local Working Instructions and Company Operations Manual which may be updated from time to time
• To recruit staff in consultation with the Transport Manager and General Manager
• To provide ongoing training for all staff from start of service and throughout their employment and regularly review their training and development
• To ensure the welfare of all staff in the department
• To forward queries and keep managers, supervisors, colleagues informed as necessary
• To keep all costs to or below budget
• To keep accurate records where required
• To wear and enforce the wearing and use of Personal Protective Equipment and handling aids, where supplied, at all times for all relevant tasks
• To enforce and carry out all tasks to comply with Company Policy on Health & Safety & COSHH requirements
• To enforce and comply with Company Policies and the Terms and Conditions of Employment and follow Company Procedures
• To keep work area clean, tidy, safe and secure at all times
• To attend training courses as required
• To foster and maintain good working relations throughout the Company
• To maintain confidentiality of Company and Customer business
• Other Ad hoc duties as required


Person

• You build good relationships with all your customers
• You take a ‘can do’ approach looking to make improvements and meet goals
• You assess your own strengths and areas for development and those of your team
• You are enthusiastic, professional and credible when representing the company

Specification

• A full UK Driving Licence
• 7.5 Ton Driving Licence
• CPC Trained
• Proficient with Microsoft Packages - Outlook, Excel and Word
• Knowledge of AS400 is advantageous (Not essential)
• Strong knowledge of transport rules and regulations

Training will be provided for all in house systems
