Reed Procurement and Supply chain are pleased to be recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager for an international well-established and innovative business based in Greater Manchester.

The role will support into the Finance Director and you will be responsible for the performance and improvement of the Company’s Supply Chain process from order to delivery.

The job duties for the Supply Chain Manager will include:

• To provide the overall direction, motivation and performance monitoring of the Customer Service, Warehouse and Supply Chain Planning Teams
• To ensure service levels are kept, customers are delivered to on time, in full and the supply chain is striving to provide a World Class Service
• Take responsibility for customer service, materials planning and control, procurement, inventory management, storage, warehousing, logistics, transport and distribution
• Encourage an environment of continuous improvement in the team of direct reports
• Lead, direct, motivate, evaluate and develop supply chain and customer service staff to ensure that resources are used effectively, targets are met and service levels are kept
• By personal example, setting standards of efficiency for all to follow and engendering a team spirit essential to the smooth operation of the department and company
• To monitor and analyse the current provision to check it is effective, and working out a strategy for improving provision if necessary.
• Select and manage ongoing relationships with major suppliers, vendors or sub-contractors (e.g. transport companies) to minimise costs and ensure the organisation receives satisfactory standards of service.
• Liaise with functional and operational managers (e.g. sales, finance) to ensure that supply and other activities are integrated with other parts of the business
• Analysing statistics and writing reports on performance levels for the Directors on a regular basis.


The successful Supply Chain Manager will ideally have the below knowledge and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management or equivalent experience
• Experience of order-to-cash process management on a regional or national level
• Experience of collaborating with global colleagues on different projects
• The ability to motivate and lead a team
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to influence others
• A strategic mind-set with ability to see the overall picture
• Good customer orientation and problem-solving skills
• Passion to “make a difference”
• Ability to effectively build strong relationships
• Ability to monitor and make suggestions regarding product supply
• Demonstrate a ‘can do’ attitude
