You will be responsible for maintaining the housing needs register, assessing housing needs and providing front line advice on housing and other related services for existing and prospective home seekers. You will give advice in relation to housing; tenant rights and responsibilities, accessing private and public sector housing and homelessness.
You will carry out enquiries in cases where a person considers themselves to be homeless, or threatened with homelessness. Working closely with third party organisations to prevent homelessness and provide solutions.
Previous experience of working with the public, knowledge of office procedures together with the ability to work methodically and as part of a busy team is essential.
You must have worked in a similar role and understand housing and homelessness policy.
You should be self-motivated, enthusiastic and pro-active in your approach to work with good organisational skills. You should also have excellent IT skills together with the ability to set up and interrogate manual and computerised systems. To succeed in this challenging role you will be someone who enjoys working with people from a variety of backgrounds, have excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Business mileage allowance – you may be required to travel for home visits.

Monday to Friday
09:00 – 17:15
Minimum 8 weeks assignment. Possible opportunity for a permanent contract.
