Reed Finance are pleased to be supporting a successful and growing further education organisation in central Essex who require an immediately available finance professional to lead, manage and develop both the finance function and organisation as a whole. Due to a pending departure, they are now seeking someone initially on a contract basis to report into the Chief Executives and provide reporting and commercial excellence.

The successful incumbent will be required to lead, manage and motivate the finance team incorporating Procurement and Payroll, to deliver a high quality, customer focused service on all financial matters to internal and external customers - influencing the strategic financial planning and development of the organisation.

Developing the finance team systems and standardising process across the organisation as a whole to ensure they are effective and fit for purpose is also a key element of this role as is the accurate preparation of accounts, reports and presentations to the Executive leaders.

A few key duties include:

Working in partnership you will advise the Chief Executives on overall financial strategy and performance and demonstrate full commitment to implementing strategy and policies

To ensure that strategic planning decisions are informed by appropriate financial guidance, that effective internal control and audit arrangements are managed and implemented in accordance with regulatory frameworks.

Effective management of all financial management aspects of the organisation as a whole

Liaising with, maintaining and developing effective institutional relationships with all partner organisations and advise on the further development of collaborative arrangements and shared service opportunities.

To understand the needs of internal and external customers and ensure the finance team is a proactive solution focused business partner.

Many other commercial, operational and reporting requirement in line with best practice, regularly liaising with key stakeholders.

This role will suit an accomplished, senior finance professional who has had exposure to an education arena at a senior level. Strong organisational skills will be key here alongside effective people management and the ability to prioritise efficiently Due to the nature of the opportunity you will need to be immediately available and ready to commit to a contract.
