An excellent opportunity to join a well established and growing organisation based in Cowley, Oxfordshire, for an experienced Finance Assistant. The role will report to the Finance Manager, and will support the day to day transactions in this busy accounts office. 

A multi-site operation, with a stable and efficient team, this is an excellent position for any up and coming or experienced Accounts Assistant.

Working within this busy environment, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

Maintaining all aspects of purchase ledger, including the processing of invoices, to the accounting system, ensuring these are correctly coded and posted to the ledger
Ensuring all items of a certain value are allocated with correct Capex
Ensuring all purchases are in line with company procedures
Gaining authorisation from relevant managers when raising requests
Paying suppliers in a timely manner
Monitoring cashflow where necessary
Closing the purchase ledger on a monthly basis
Reconciling credit card statements 

Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register on a monthly basis, reconciling with additions, disposals and depreciation

Daily banking responsibilities include printing all statements, checking with remittances
Ensuring all banking is reconciled daily, posting receipts
Posting all daily direct debits 
Reconciling all credit card transactions 

Sales ledger responsibility for taking cash and card payments, recording accurately 
Reconcile and agree petty cash claims, adhering to policy
Processing cash refunds when necessary
Ensuring ledgers are accurate and correct where necessary








Candidates will be keen to work in a busy and fast paced office environment, having initiative and drive to complete the tasks to the best of their ability. 

Having worked in an accounting capacity will be a distinct advantage, particularly candidates with experience in purchase ledger, sales ledger, cash, banking and credit control. 

Experience of dealing with customers on a daily basis is essential, along with being a team player with an ability to work independently when necessary.
