The Oxford City Council are looking to appoint an Assessment Officer on a temporary basis.

Location - Oxford, Oxfordshire
Pay rate - £12.85 per hour plus holiday pay
Hours - 37 hours per week
Start date - Immediate
End date – 30/10/2017

The role
Our Benefit Service at Oxford City Council process applications for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction and we are currently looking for an additional Assessment Officer to join our team.
In this role you will have responsibility for determining entitlement to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reductions as well as for identifying Council Tax liability. Working as part of a team your contribution will support achievement and maintenance of the highest levels of customer service, accuracy and best practice.

• Working to high levels and accuracy and within our service level agreements, this role involves,
• Assessing and determining entitlement to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reductions, accurately and promptly.
• Determining and amending Council Tax liability where this affects benefit customers.
• Responding to all correspondence relating to benefit enquiries and liaising as necessary with other departments to ensure that excellent customer service is provided.
