Clerical Officer

Job Description

The Clerical Officer: Reception, will work as part of a team under the management of the Section Assistant General Secretary and the overall management of the General Secretary.
You will be allocated specific duties and will be required to exercise sound judgement, skill and diligent application in the performance of his/her role and demonstrate flexibility when required.

* Pay starts from €15.40 p/h. Can go up the salary point scale depending on experience.

 

Key tasks and responsibilities of the role include:

  • Operating telephone switchboard to answer or transfer calls, providing information, communicating with members, taking messages and providing customer service
  • Logging members queries received by phone, email, in person via the member portal on our system database, ensuring they are forwarded to correct department
  • Dealing with post and in-house deliveries
  • Greeting committee members, members and visitors in a courteous, professional and friendly manner whilst ensuring adherence to the Visitor policy
  • Booking couriers and taxi’s
  • Checking incoming correspondence throughout the day and distributing to relevant personnel
  • Training of any new employees joining the Reception team and existing or new Clerical Officers for cover purposes
